PR and Blogs

Can blogs be useful for public relations or is it seen as unprofessional?

"Blogging is a powerful tool for communicating your business’ stories. And in essence, that’s what Public Relations – PR – is all about" (CPCommunications). Public relations is made for communication and relationships, which is very similar to the purpose of blogging.

Blogs are created to inform, explain, and connect. Blogging has made it easy for companies to quickly posted information in a cost effective way. CPCommunications also points out the blogging helps take control of the business' narrative. Companies can now take control of what informations is released about them and from them.

CPCommuncations shared how to find public relations content for a blog:

1. New products and services

2. Changes to your business culture

3. Hot topics in the news as related to your business

4. Changes to your industry

5. Behind-the-scenes

You can make your (business) blog about anything you want! Make it informative and interesting to read. People like to see what you are up to and what happens behind all the pretty social media posts. Also make sure to get to the point of your posts, people will not be willing to read a post that is too long.

Don't be afraid to get real!
